Focus on What Matters

Sunday we celebrated the day of love, Valentines Day.  For some of us we may have asked that special person out on a date or perhaps you took your spouse out for an enjoyable evening.    I remember back when I first met Tamara I had to take the risk of asking her on the first date.  It required boldness on my part. Yes, my heart was racing a million miles per hour but I didn’t let that stop me.  I did it and now look what I’ve got.  I’m married to an amazing woman.

This reminded me of the boldness Jesus had when He reached out to hurting people.   The passion to inspire others overcame any intimidation He may have felt.  The same can apply to us; our friends, family and co-workers need someone to remove the barriers that weaken them when they try to live for God.  Let those around you know you believe in them.  Be someone they can count on.

As we look at that special someone in our life, let’s reflect on the boldness we had to take in winning his or her heart.  Let’s get back to truly caring about other’s needs and showing them the love of Christ first hand.
